Registered Nurse – Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). You will provide direct, patient‑centered care to surgical patients as they recover from anesthesia, ensuring safety and comfort during a critical phase of their hospital stay.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor patients’ vital signs, heart rhythm, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and breathing as anesthesia wears off.
• Assess pain levels, administer prescribed medications, and document all observations and interventions.
• Implement, update, and communicate patient care plans in collaboration with physicians and the care team.
• Educate patients and families about post‑operative recovery and discharge needs.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
• Current state RN licensure and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• At least one year of acute‑care nursing experience (military RN experience considered).
• Ability to work days plus on‑call shifts (11:00 am – 11:30 pm) with weekend and holiday requirements.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency in monitoring cardiac rhythm, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiratory status.
• Medication administration and documentation skills.
