Registered Nurse – Pediatric Emergency Department

About the role

The Pediatric Emergency Department at Hillcrest Hospital provides 24/7, child‑friendly emergency care staffed by board‑certified physicians and specialized nurses. This position works an evening/night rotation, supporting patients and families in a high‑acuity environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care and implement patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions, updating plans of care as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments according to nursing protocols.
• Educate patients and families, coordinate discharge needs, and document physician and nursing orders.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN, or BSN).
• Current RN licensure in the state.
• One year of acute care RN experience or military RN experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) within 24 months of hire.

Required skills

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within one year of hire.
• Ability to perform full range of motion lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
• Compliance with standard precautions and use of personal protective equipment.
