Registered Nurse – Oncology Clinic

About the role

The Registered Nurse will provide direct assistance to physicians in a clinical oncology setting, delivering professional nursing care to patients ranging from late adolescence to elderly. The role ensures efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and adherence to safety protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Assist physicians with exams, procedures, and maintain patient flow in exam rooms.
• Record vital signs, allergies, medication changes, and monitor patient conditions.
• Administer chemotherapy, medications, and blood products, including venipuncture and central line access.
• Program and educate patients on portable infusion pumps and manage dose modifications.
• Handle scheduling, prior authorizations, and ensure consent forms are obtained.
• Document nursing assessments, patient teaching, and medication administration in charts.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
• Minimum one year of nursing experience, preferably in oncology.
• Current RN state license and registration with the State Board of Nursing.

Required skills

• Chemotherapy administration and charge documentation.
• Use and maintenance of ambulatory infusion pumps.
• Venipuncture and central line access techniques.
• Medication and blood product preparation and delivery.
