Registered Nurse – Night Shift, Adult Psychiatry

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Adult Psychiatry unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital‑Schuylkill. This night‑shift position (7:00 pm – 7:30 am) provides professional nursing care, patient assessment, and coordination of treatment in a Magnet®‑recognized hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for designated patients, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
• Utilize evidence‑based practice, participate in quality and safety initiatives, and contribute to performance improvement processes.
• Provide patient and family education throughout the treatment course and support smooth transitions of care.
• Perform validated technical skills specific to the psychiatric unit and incorporate technology to optimize care delivery.
• Teach, mentor, and precept new colleagues and interns, delegating tasks based on skill level and patient acuity.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current RN licensure in Pennsylvania.
• Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association) and basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage patient assignments in a fast‑paced environment.
• Successful completion of unit‑specific orientation and competency assessments.
