Registered Nurse – Night Shift Per Diem

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network seeks a Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care on the night shift at its Schuylkill location. This per‑diem position involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in accordance with hospital policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for designated patients, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
• Provide patient and family education throughout the treatment course and facilitate effective transitions of care.
• Participate in evidence‑based practice, performance improvement processes, and unit‑based patient experience goals.
• Teach and mentor new colleagues and interns, delegating tasks based on skill level and patient acuity.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current RN licensure in Pennsylvania.
• Successful completion of orientation programs and maintenance of unit‑specific competencies.
• Ability to organize, prioritize assignments, and perform physical tasks such as lifting 40‑50 lb and standing for long periods.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification (required upon hire).
