Registered Nurse – NICU (Night Shift)

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) on the night shift. This position provides professional nursing care to critically ill newborns, ensuring safe and compassionate treatment in a high‑performing, award‑winning health system.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for designated NICU patients, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
• Provide patient and family education throughout the treatment course and support smooth transitions of care.
• Perform validated technical skills specific to NICU practice and utilize technology to enhance care delivery.
• Mentor new staff and interns, delegate tasks appropriately, and contribute to performance‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current RN licensure in Pennsylvania.
• Successful completion of unit‑specific orientation and maintenance of required competencies.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and deliver safe patient care in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – American Heart Association.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and technology use.
