Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Post Op Unit (Night Shift)

About the role

AdventHealth in Hinsdale, Illinois, is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its Medical Surgical Post Op Unit. The schedule is nights, 36 hours per week, from 6:45 pm to 7:15 am, with rotating weekends and holidays. Starting pay is $37.50 per hour, with a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 for eligible applicants.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients' physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual and lifestyle factors and develop individualized care plans, revising them as needed
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, monitor for adverse reactions and educate patients and families
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments, keep accurate records and ensure infection control and safety standards
• Provide emotional support, supervise and delegate care to the healthcare team, and respond promptly to code situations
• Take part in continuous professional development and performance improvement activities

Required profile

• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred
• Registered Nurse (RN) license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Fluent English (reading, speaking and writing)
• Preferred: 1+ years of acute care hospital experience, and certifications such as CCNS, NRP, PEARS, TNCC, ABLS, CLC, CCRN-E, SCR, GERO-BC, ONS, ABP or S.T.A.B.L.E.

Required skills

• EKG interpretation (based on patient; see EKG and ALS requirements)
