Registered Nurse

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time day-shift Registered Nurse in Kissimmee, Florida. The nurse provides comprehensive patient assessment, develops individualized care plans, administers treatments safely and collaborates with the medical team to deliver quality care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual and lifestyle factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, reviewing them regularly and adjusting them as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, medications and self-care strategies.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions and outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and families.
• Supervise and delegate care provided by other team members.
• Respond promptly to code situations and provide interventions to stabilize patients.

Required profile

• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license (required).
• Basic Life Support / CPR certification (required).
• Fluent in English, read, spoken and written.
• 1+ year of experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the unit or state.

Required skills

• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures.
• Ability to work as a team player within a unit.
• Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills.
• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions and revise care plans.
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows-based programs.
• EKG interpretation (based on patient; see the EKG and Advanced Life Support requirements document).

Pay range: $31.85 - $52.76. Certain positions are subject to Florida Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting. The facility is an equal opportunity employer.
