Registered Dietitian – Outpatient

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Digestive Disease & Surgery Institute seeks a Registered Dietitian to provide outpatient nutrition care. Working 8:00 am‑4:30 pm, you will support patients in achieving health goals through personalized medical nutrition therapy.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individualized nutrition assessment, counseling, and education to out‑patients.
• Develop, implement, and document nutrition care plans, including diet orders and follow‑up systems.
• Assess nutrient intake, evaluate fluids/electrolytes, review labs, and communicate findings to physicians.
• Create and update patient education materials and participate in program development.
• Serve as a preceptor for dietetic internship students and teach classes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics or related field.
• Current state licensure and active Registered Dietitian (RD) certification.
• At least one year of clinical nutrition experience (or completion of a dietetic internship).

Required skills

• Medical nutrition therapy and diet order modification.
• Patient assessment for nutritional deficiencies and fluid/electrolyte balance.
• Documentation and communication of nutrition plans to multidisciplinary teams.
