Regional Engineer - Digital Broadcasting

About the role

iHeartMedia Markets is hiring a Regional Engineer to maintain its digital broadcasting electronic systems in the Seattle market. The engineer works independently and collaborates with the PNW Region Engineering team. Candidates are encouraged to apply even if their experience does not match the description perfectly.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain digital broadcasting electronic systems and related equipment for optimal transmission and broadcast performance
• Maintain traditional radio and digital broadcasting equipment, including RF switchers, transmitters, transceivers, studio consoles and associated audio equipment
• Respond to equipment outages, malfunctions and related technical problems
• Run routine diagnostic tests and repair and replace broadcast equipment
• Help clients, technicians and service personnel install, train on and support software, hardware and peripherals such as file servers, workstations, networking switches, NICs, monitors, KVMs and radio equipment
• Document maintenance, repairs and replacements, and choose test equipment, parts and tools
• Install, maintain and support desktop computers for internal users and company-owned sites in the market
• Travel periodically to other iHeartMedia locations for installation or troubleshooting
• Occasional night and weekend work, on-call availability 24/7, and interaction with executive management, programming and sales departments

Required profile

• Previous radio broadcast experience is required
• Associate degree or higher in a technical field, or equivalent experience
• SBE certification is a plus
• Able to climb ladders, work in small spaces and lift 50 pounds
• Valid state driver's license and an excellent driving record
