Receptionist

About the role

We are seeking a friendly and organized Receptionist to join our team at Oceans Behavioral Hospital. You will be the first point of contact for patients, families, and visitors, providing a warm and professional front‑desk experience in a fast‑paced psychiatric care environment.

Key responsibilities

• Answer the switchboard and direct calls with proper etiquette.
• Perform general clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and assisting administrative staff.
• Greet patients and visitors, manage check‑in/check‑out procedures.
• Maintain a calm demeanor during high‑volume periods and handle interruptions efficiently.
• Follow Joint Commission, federal, and state regulations in all reception activities.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• At least 1 year experience as a general receptionist.
• Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Comfort working with diverse and vulnerable populations.
• Good physical and mental health, empathetic attitude, and high personal integrity.
• Ability to work under close supervision and cope with a stressful environment.
• Successful completion of CPR certification and an Oceans‑approved behavioral health de‑escalation program.

Required skills

• Computer proficiency for data entry and scheduling.
