RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I/II/Specialist (MT/WY Virtual)

About the role

Zurich is seeking a Crop Claims Field Adjuster to join its Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) team, serving farmers and ranchers in Montana and Wyoming. The role is home‑based with approximately 50% travel within a 50‑mile radius of designated counties.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections, read maps and aerial photos, measure fields and storage bins, and discuss crop loss findings with farmers on complex claims.
• Communicate complex regulations and claim interpretations to claimants, agents, and industry stakeholders.
• Gather factual information, apply applicable law, and determine potential indemnities.
• Perform claim reviews and audits of lower‑level adjusters as assigned.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and company policies.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years of crop insurance and claims adjusting experience.
• Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) to be obtained within 180 days of hire.
• Reliable personal transportation for travel within the territory.
• Physical ability to walk up to 3 miles in fields, climb storage bins up to 25 ft, and lift 25–50 lb.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication abilities.
