RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I / Crop Claims Specialist (Illinois)

About the role

Zurich is seeking a RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I or Crop Claims Specialist to serve Illinois farmers and ranchers. The position is home‑based with extensive travel across a defined territory.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections, read maps and aerial photos, measure fields and storage bins, and discuss loss findings with farmers.
• Gather factual evidence of crop damage, record information, and transmit loss data to determine indemnities.
• Explain complex regulations and claim situations to claimants, agents, and industry partners.
• Perform claim reviews and audits of lower‑level adjusters as assigned.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and company policies.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• For Adjuster I: minimum 6 months agricultural experience; for Specialist: 4+ years in agriculture or crop insurance.
• Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) obtained within 180 days of hire.
• Reliable personal transportation, valid driver’s license, and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Physical ability to walk up to 3 miles in fields, climb bins up to 50 ft, and lift 25‑50 lb.

Required skills

• Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency.
