Internship in UN Sustainable Development Evaluation Office

About the role

The United Nations Sustainable Development Group System-Wide Evaluation Office (SWEO) is seeking interns to support its 2027 evaluation programme. This role offers practical experience in an independent evaluation office within a multicultural, intergovernmental organization.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing evaluation knowledge‑management products, communications, and web‑enabled platforms.
• Support data collection, organization, and analysis of qualitative and quantitative information.
• Prepare presentations, graphics, videos, and other communication materials.
• Document UN events, draft briefing notes, and produce meeting minutes with follow‑up actions.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recently graduated from a graduate or final‑year undergraduate programme in social sciences, economics, public administration or related fields.
• Demonstrated interest in the UN system, sustainable development, and monitoring & evaluation.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English; additional UN language is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, SQL, R, STATA, MaxQDA, NVivo, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, or Canva.
