Radiologist Assistant – GI Procedures

About the role

The Radiology Assistant (RA) provides primary radiologic services under the supervision of a radiologist, performing a variety of imaging and interventional procedures for gastrointestinal patients at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate daily procedure schedule with supervising physician and perform fluoroscopic, ultrasound‑guided, and CT‑guided biopsies, drainages, arthrograms, myelograms, and other radiologist‑directed procedures.
• Review medical images and preliminary reports with the supervising physician, prepare technical reports, and document findings.
• Assess patient physiological and psychological status, manage patient care, and administer intravenous medication and contrast media under physician supervision.
• Maintain patient modesty, comfort, and safety; perform basic nursing functions and report any changes in condition.
• Participate in compliance initiatives, attend departmental meetings, and identify signs of abuse or neglect.

Required profile

• Graduate of an ARRT‑recognized program; certified and active with AART.
• Current state licensure as a Radiographer and Radiologist Assistant in Ohio.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Minimum three years experience as a Registered Radiology Technologist.
• Ability to lift patients, stand and walk for extended periods, and follow OSHA and MSDS requirements.
