About the role
The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Purchasing Assistant 2 to support daily operations at the Georgia Regional Hospital in Atlanta, located in Decatur, GA. The role involves coordinating receipt, storage, inventory, and distribution of supplies, materials, and equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Receive, store, and distribute materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct periodic counts.
- Organize stock and storage areas for accessibility.
- Check incoming shipments for accuracy and report discrepancies.
- Respond to staff requests and provide customer service.
- Pick up and deliver materials and equipment as assigned.
Required profile
- High school diploma/GED.
- Two years of job‑related experience in inventory, purchasing, or supply chain management, or one year as a Purchasing Agent 1 (FET040) or equivalent.
Required skills
- Basic knowledge of inventory management processes.
- Ability to use standard office equipment and inventory software.
