Pulsed Power R&D Engineer

About the role

The Pulsed Power team develops novel pulsed power technologies for space and terrestrial applications. We are looking for a highly skilled engineer who can turn vague concepts into functional prototypes in a resource‑constrained environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, rapid iteration, and testing of cutting‑edge pulsed power systems.
• Perform safe lab operations, create design documentation, and conduct performance, lifetime, and safety testing.
• Model circuits in LTspice, develop custom diagnostics, and refine prototypes based on experimental results.
• Collaborate across teams, communicate technical concepts clearly, and travel to field sites when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• Proven experience designing pulsed power systems and working with high‑voltage components.
• Strong first‑principles engineering fundamentals and hands‑on fabrication/troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently in a startup culture and thrive under schedule constraints.

Required skills

• LTspice or similar circuit simulation tools.
• High‑voltage systems, capacitive energy storage, gas and liquid switching, vacuum power flow.
• Electro‑static simulations and plasma physics background.
• Surface‑mount soldering, EMI protection, Arduino‑based circuit control.
• Solid‑state power components (SMPS topologies, power transformers, MOSFETs, thyristors, capacitors, ICs).
