Electrical Engineer – Space Additive Manufacturing

About the role

Lunar Resources is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join its space manufacturing team in Houston. You will work with a multidisciplinary group to design, build, test, and fly space additive manufacturing systems for metal and metal‑oxide parts.

Key responsibilities

• Model, design and test metal and metal‑oxide additive manufacturing processes using first‑principles analysis and COMSOL multi‑physics simulations.
• Improve printed part quality by defining novel sequences, algorithms and optimizing process parameters.
• Drive conceptual design, define design criteria, and conduct component‑level trade studies.
• Collaborate across engineering teams to ensure successful integration of components and drive technology improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace engineering, math, or a related scientific discipline.
• At least 2 years of professional experience with additive manufacturing systems.
• Experience with electrical CAD and COMSOL Multiphysics software.

Required skills

• Strong first‑principles engineering fundamentals and expert knowledge of metal or metal‑oxide additive manufacturing.
• Proficiency in a programming language, preferably C.
• Hands‑on experience with surface‑mount soldering, EMI protection, Arduino‑based circuit control, and solid‑state power components (SMPS topologies, transformers, MOSFETs, thyristors).
• Experience designing, fabricating and troubleshooting 3D printers.
