Public Health Registered Nurse Level 3 – Georgia

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Public Health Registered Nurse Level 3 to join the District 4 Public Health team in Fayetteville. Under broad supervision, you will deliver professional nursing care focused on disease prevention, health promotion, and emergency response for diverse populations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical assessments for all ages and develop care plans based on nursing protocols.
• Administer medications and vaccines, document care in the Electronic Medical Record, and ensure accurate billing.
• Serve as a patient advocate, referring clients to community partners or private physicians as needed.
• Participate in emergency preparedness activities, including staffing shelters, specimen collection sites, and distribution points.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports and contribute to continuous professional development.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in Nursing (or Bachelor’s) from an accredited program.
• Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification.
• Two years of nursing experience and completion of a Public Health Nursing (PHN) course within one year of hire, or equivalent experience at lower PHN levels.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and respond to public health emergencies.
