Public Education Community Outreach Coordinator, Psychiatry

About the role

The Perinatal Psychiatry Access Network (PeriPAN) is a program funded through the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium aimed at improving perinatal mental health services across Texas. This position serves as the entry point for the program, providing outreach and enrolling primary care providers who care for pregnant or postpartum women in the North Texas region.

Key responsibilities

• Support and assist with public education and community outreach for a department.
• Develop and promote projects, programs and special events related to patient and public education and outreach goals.
• Deliver educational programs to community members and attend outreach events throughout the region.
• Provide input and help develop materials and resources needed for project implementation and evaluation.
• Assist investigators with outreach and educational materials, and help with recruitment by explaining available programs and research opportunities to community members.
• Oversee and budget expenditures for community outreach and education programs.
• May supervise staff by orienting, training and giving feedback, and may coordinate social media and marketing efforts.
• May travel to current and prospective outreach locations to build relationships with community partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, marketing, communications or a related field.
• 3 years of related experience, which may substitute for education.
• Position is security-sensitive and subject to a criminal background check.
