Public Area Attendant

About the role

The Public Area Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of all public spaces within the hotel. This role supports guest satisfaction by ensuring that corridors, lobbies, elevators, restrooms, and employee areas are spotless and well‑presented.

Key responsibilities

• Clean hard and textile surfaces, restrooms, and all public‑area furnishings according to guest service and sustainability standards.
• Remove fingerprints, smudges, and debris from windows, doorways, elevators, and floors.
• Spot‑clean carpets and empty waste receptacles throughout public zones.
• Maintain the employee break room and restroom in a clean condition.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely, following Material Safety Data Sheets and OSHA guidelines.
• Adhere to blood‑borne pathogen protection procedures and the hotel’s EarthView sustainability program.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a similar cleaning or housekeeping role is preferred.
• Ability to work varied schedules, including holidays and weekends.
• Physical stamina for standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lb, and frequent bending, kneeling, or crouching.

Required skills

• Knowledge of safe chemical handling and familiarity with MSDS.
• Understanding of OSHA standards and blood‑borne pathogen precautions.
• Commitment to sustainability practices and safe work habits.
