About the role
This is manual and semi‑skilled work involving a variety of food‑service duties in a dining hall or cash‑operations kitchen. The role includes serving foods, cleaning facilities, and preparing meals on the serving line.
Key responsibilities
- Assist cooks and kitchen staff with tasks such as cleaning and paring vegetables, washing dishes, serving from the line, cleaning tables and sweeping floors (30%).
- Serve patrons in a pleasant and courteous manner while maintaining neatness and cleanliness in food handling (30%).
- Operate and care for food‑service equipment including meat slicer, mixing machine, steam cookers and beverage machines (30%).
- Perform related duties as assigned by management (10%).
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of safe food handling and food‑preparation methods.
- Physical ability to lift loads up to 50 lb, perform repetitive motions and work in noisy, hot or cold environments.
Required skills
- Food safety practices.
- Operation of food‑service equipment (meat slicer, steam cookers, etc.).
