Project Specialist - Data Center Projects

About the role

ABB is hiring a Project Specialist for its Smart Power team within the Electrification Service division. The role reports to the Senior Project Manager and works closely with Project Managers to coordinate high-demand projects at data centers across the US, supporting daily execution and on-time delivery within budget. The work model is hybrid in Richmond, VA.

Key responsibilities

• Align field resources according to schedules provided by project managers.
• Coordinate administrative tasks, keeping documentation and follow-up via email, SharePoint and project management software.
• Create and maintain service cases with complete, up-to-date information.
• Create and follow up on purchase requisitions.
• Maintain timely communication with project stakeholders such as HSE, Service and Project Managers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve coordination and administrative issues.
• Act as the main interface between Projects and Service teams, internal and external.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
• CAPM or PMP certification highly preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in service and/or electrical-based project support highly preferred.
• Ability to work across all US time zones as needed.
• Current work authorization to work for ABB in the US.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Microsoft Project Planner is a plus.
