Project Civil Engineer – Yard

About the role

APM Terminals Elizabeth is seeking a Project Civil Engineer to lead civil works for a major terminal transformation. You will manage design reviews, construction delivery and contractor performance while ensuring safety, quality and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead on‑site delivery of civil works, ground investigations and related project activities.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, safety and quality objectives.
• Review design packages, tender submissions and detailed engineering deliverables.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Drive compliance with APM Terminals safety standards and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 7–10 years of civil engineering or construction management experience on large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• 3–5 years of experience in container terminals, ports or marine infrastructure.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage contractors.

Required skills

• Civil design and construction execution.
• Project controls, scheduling and risk management.
• Cost control and value engineering.
• Knowledge of FIDIC or similar contract frameworks.
