Project HSSE Coordinator

About the role

Join APM Terminals, a global leader in port and terminal operations, as a Project HSSE Coordinator. You will drive safety and environmental performance on large‑scale construction projects within an active marine terminal.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate HSSE execution for construction activities, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, regulatory requirements, and site‑specific procedures.
• Develop and implement HSSE policies, procedures, and systems supporting operational safety and compliance across projects.
• Conduct field inspections, audits, and safety walkthroughs to identify hazards, assess risks, and ensure corrective actions.
• Lead incident reporting, investigations, root‑cause analysis, and monitor HSSE KPIs to drive performance improvements.
• Oversee contractor compliance, including verification of certifications, safety performance, and adherence to CHASP, JSAs, and method statements.
• Manage regulatory interface and compliance activities for OSHA, EPA, DEP, USCG, CBP, and Port Authority inspections.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of HSSE experience in construction, transportation, marine terminals, or heavy infrastructure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Management, Emergency Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910, 1926, 1917) and EPA/DEP environmental compliance frameworks.
• Experience coordinating with regulatory agencies and managing inspections, audits, and compliance documentation.
