About the role

The Program Lead will launch and manage CBAI's AIxBio Research Fellowship, bridging AI safety and biosecurity. You will shape strategy, oversee operations, and build a high‑impact research environment in Cambridge.

Key responsibilities

• Define and continuously improve the AIxBio fellowship vision, design end‑to‑end program structures, and develop evaluation frameworks.
• Manage AIxBio Research Managers, providing guidance and support.
• Lead mentor recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing relationship management with biosecurity and AI experts.
• Collaborate with CBAI leadership to ensure alignment with broader AI safety initiatives and resource allocation.
• Identify opportunities to deepen CBAI’s presence in the Cambridge biosecurity ecosystem.

Required profile

• Deep familiarity with the intersection of AI and biosecurity, demonstrated through research, policy, or program leadership.
• Proven ability to launch and scale new programs in ambiguous environments.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with senior researchers and institutional partners.
• Strategic thinking combined with hands‑on operational execution.
• Mission‑driven commitment to mitigating AI‑related biosecurity risks.
