About the role
The Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is seeking faculty members at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. The position involves establishing an independent research program and contributing to the department’s teaching mission.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and lead a funded research program in areas such as infection, cancer, host‑pathogen interactions, HIV/AIDS, emerging pathogens, cancer immunology, or autoimmunity.
- Mentor graduate students, post‑doctoral fellows, and junior faculty.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in microbiology, immunology, or related subjects.
- Collaborate with disease‑focused centers, including the Center for AIDS Research and the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Required profile
- Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree.
- Established, funded research program with a translational focus.
- Strong record of scholarly publications and teaching effectiveness.
Required skills
- Expertise in bacteriology, immunology, or virology.
- Experience securing research funding.
- Ability to develop interdisciplinary collaborations.
