Intervention Specialist

About the role

The Intervention Specialist supports the educational and behavioral goals of all students, focusing on those with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) at Cornerstone Academy – Elementary.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to interpret student abilities and disabilities, develop intervention strategies, and modify curriculum as needed.
• Conduct diagnostic and functional behavior assessments, write and implement behavior improvement plans, and facilitate IEP meetings.
• Integrate research‑based and culturally responsive teaching practices into daily instruction.
• Serve as advisor for a designated group of students and communicate regularly with families about academic and social‑emotional progress.
• Participate in planning and execution of non‑instructional activities such as social events and field trips.

Required profile

• Current state teaching license with knowledge of State and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in inclusive or co‑teaching models and comfort working in a growth‑focused coaching environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and time‑management skills.
• Ability to pass federal and state background checks.

Required skills

• High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook).
