About the role

ACCEL Schools is seeking a qualified ESL Teacher to join Cornerstone Academy in Westerville, Ohio. The teacher will deliver engaging English language instruction to a diverse K‑12 student body while fostering academic and social‑emotional growth.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans, adapting them throughout the school year.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and development.
• Apply research‑based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction.
• Manage student behavior and create a positive learning environment.
• Utilize school‑approved curricula that reflect diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
• Implement school‑wide culture expectations and norms.
• Communicate regularly with families about academic and social‑emotional growth.
• Incorporate technology tools to support learning.
• Participate in non‑instructional activities and collaborate with colleagues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Active Ohio teaching license in the appropriate content area.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
• Comfort working in a growth‑focused coaching environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage confidential information.
• Capability to supervise students in various settings (classroom, playground, cafeteria).
• Pass federal and state criminal background checks.
• Experience working in an urban school environment.
