Title 1 Teacher

About the role

ACCEL Schools is hiring a highly qualified Title 1 Teacher for Cornerstone Academy in Westerville, Ohio, a charter school serving Northeast Columbus communities with a full K-12 program emphasizing art, music and STEM. The teacher will help bring the curriculum to life in a positive classroom environment that prioritizes student learning and social-emotional development.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans, modifying them as needed during the school year
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students
• Maintain accurate records of students' progress and development
• Use research-based best practices in planning and instruction, and school-approved curricula reflecting students' diverse backgrounds
• Manage student behavior and create a positive learning environment
• Incorporate technology skills into daily practice and use school-wide culture expectations
• Meet with families about academic and social-emotional growth
• Take part in non-instructional activities, collaborate with colleagues and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Active, current Ohio teaching license in the appropriate content area
• Bachelor's degree in education or a related field
• Experience working in an urban environment
• Comfort in a growth-focused coaching environment with frequent observations, debriefs and action planning
• Ability to supervise students of various ages in settings such as the playground and cafeteria
• Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
