About the role

ACE Amandla Charter High School seeks a dedicated Science Teacher to deliver engaging, standards‑based instruction to high‑school students. The role involves designing curriculum, assessing student progress, and collaborating with special education and ELTP staff.

Key responsibilities

• Develop backwards‑designed units and lesson plans aligned to curriculum maps and submit them on time.
• Collaborate regularly with special education and English Language Program teachers, ensuring IEPs are implemented with fidelity.
• Deliver rigorous, differentiated, student‑centered instruction and design assessments that measure academic standards.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, attendance, and provide timely feedback.
• Communicate regularly with guardians about student development and participate in IEP meetings.

Required profile

• Eligibility to work full‑time in the United States.
• Bachelor’s degree (required); active Illinois Professional Educator License (preferred).
• Five or more years of high‑school teaching experience (preferred).
