Product Industrialization Engineer (Entry/Experienced)

About the role

Michelin is hiring a Product Industrialization Engineer at its BF Goodrich tire plant in Woodburn, Indiana, about 30 minutes east of Fort Wayne. The role prepares new tire designs for mass production using simulations, testing and prototyping, ensuring tire performance while minimizing the impact on plant productivity and costs. Training is provided by Michelin, including formal classes and on-the-job mentoring.

Key responsibilities

• Co-develop tire models with a worldwide team to define manufacturing specifications that meet performance targets while respecting industrial standards and constraints.
• Identify and manage the risks of meeting quality, timing and cost targets for the industrialization project.
• Conduct root cause analysis and develop actions to resolve manufacturing and design issues.
• Provide technical support to the factory throughout the tire's life cycle, from startup to end-of-life.
• Improve the tire design process by creating and deploying new tools and work methods.

Required profile

• Willingness and ability to travel 10-20% per year to Greenville, South Carolina for initial training and scheduled workshops.
• BS in Engineering (preferably Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent experience in product design, testing, start-up or production.
• Teamwork, effective problem-solving and professional communication with partners, suppliers, customers and colleagues.
• Ability to take small measurements (e.g. 1 mm on a ruler or 0.1 mm on a loop) to validate the tire design.
• Experience working in multiple computer systems; CAD software is a plus.
