Process Engineer

About the role

WEG is seeking a Process Engineer for its Duluth facility to support manufacturing operations. You will review production schedules, workflows, and process specifications, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and safety while reducing waste.

Key responsibilities

• Apply Lean Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering principles to optimise workflows and eliminate waste.
• Conduct time studies, performance analysis, and KPI tracking to spot improvement opportunities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve process issues related to labour efficiency, quality, safety, and ergonomics.
• Develop, update and maintain manufacturing procedures, work instructions and process documentation.
• Design and support improvements in process flow, equipment layout and facility arrangements.
• Prepare reports, metrics and presentations for management on process status and improvement proposals.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering and quality teams to implement improvements.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards and support audits.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives such as 5S and preventive‑maintenance programmes.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or equivalent related work experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on root‑cause analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to influence process changes and work across technical and non‑technical teams.
• Attention to detail, strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.

Required skills

• Lean Manufacturing principles (Kaizen, 5S, waste reduction).
• Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Power BI (preferred).
• AutoCAD or similar design software (preferred).
