Probationary French Teacher (Grades 7‑12)

About the role

This position is for a probationary French teacher at South High School, covering grades 7‑12. The successful candidate will deliver French instruction, prepare students for NYS Regents exams, and contribute to a collaborative school environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver French lessons aligned with NYS Regents standards.
• Incorporate differentiated instruction to meet the needs of special education students and advanced learners.
• Utilize technology to enhance classroom learning.
• Maintain effective classroom management and a student‑centered atmosphere.
• Collaborate with peers, supervisors, and special education staff.
• Participate in extracurricular activities such as advising, chaperoning, or clubs when needed.

Required profile

• Valid NYS French certification (grades 7‑12), with 5‑6 extension preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of French language and culture.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, faculty, parents, and support staff.
• Commitment to reflective teaching practice and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work cooperatively within a team and support special education initiatives.

Required skills
