PRN X-Ray Technologist

About the role

Appling Healthcare is hiring a PRN X-Ray technologist in Baxley, Georgia. Working under the direct supervision of the Radiology Manager, the technologist detects patient abnormalities by completing imaging studies and presents images for diagnosis.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain radiology equipment, including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and requesting repairs
• Develop images, observe results, adjust settings, retake images and forward completed tests to the radiologist
• Perform radiographic x-rays and assist radiologists with fluoroscopy and other special procedures
• Use c-arm and portable equipment safely and independently, following ALARA principles and radiation protection practices
• Practice sterile techniques and keep equipment and supplies clean and stocked
• Organize patient care, prioritize critical cases, identify patients, review requisitions and prepare patients for imaging
• Greet patients, explain procedures and equipment, and document services in the Meditech system
• Transport patients, perform clerical duties, assist the radiologist and help manage the work floor

Required profile

• Successful completion of Radiologic Technology training
• Current certification as a Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT(R))
• Current BLS certification, to be obtained within 90 days of hire
• Previous radiology experience preferred but not required
• Effective verbal and written English; additional languages preferred
