PRN Ultrasound Technologist

About the role

A part-time Ultrasound Technologist is needed in Baxley, working under the direct supervision of the Radiology Manager. The technologist develops ultrasonic imaging for diagnostic purposes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound procedures using universal precaution techniques to ensure patient safety.
• Review each exam for technical accuracy and present completed exams to the radiologist.
• Use all transducers and test them routinely to ensure they work effectively.
• Act as equipment quality control monitor and notify the manager of any malfunctions.
• Prioritize patient care, giving critical care first, and recommend further tests when necessary.
• Maintain documentation of actions taken and provide information to the radiologist for interpretation.
• Assist in quality assurance programs and help colleagues when their workload allows.
• Maintain adequate stock of supplies and perform other job-related duties as requested.

Required profile

• Completion of radiologic technology training or graduation from an ultrasound program.
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT).
• Ultrasound certification.
• Previous ultrasound experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English; additional languages preferred.

Required skills

• Current BLS certification (must be obtained within 90 days of hire).
• Ultrasound imaging and transducer testing.
