PRN Speech Therapist (SLP) - Home Health

About the role

Alabama HomeCare of Fort Payne, a part of LHC Group and a post-acute care partner for hospitals, physicians and families, is hiring a PRN Speech Therapist. The therapist assesses and evaluates patient care needs related to speech and language disorders, functional training in communication, swallowing and cognitive impairments, helps determine a treatment plan, delivers interventions and evaluates patient progress.

Key responsibilities

• Provide services within the scope of practice defined by state law, in line with the plan of care and in coordination with the health care team
• Evaluate patient function with diagnostic and prognostic tests and assist the physician in developing the therapy plan of care
• Treat patients so they can express their thoughts clearly, using acceptable standards of practice
• Observe, record and report to the supervising nurse and/or physician the patient's response to treatment and changes in condition
• Instruct patients, families, caregivers and other team members in areas of speech therapy in which they can participate

Required profile

• Licensed in Speech Therapy in the state of Alabama
• Current CPR certification
• Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation

• Salary ranging from $71,200 to $127,200 annually based on full-time employment
