PRN RN – Pediatric Emergency Department (ED)

About the role

The PRN RN will provide direct nursing care in the Pediatric Emergency Department at Hillcrest Hospital, supporting a 24/7 team of physicians and specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to pediatric emergency patients.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Serve as primary coordinator of multidisciplinary care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Two years recent related nursing experience (or internal candidates with less experience after probation).
• Successful completion of prescreen competency assessments.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) within 24 months of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within one year of hire.
