About the role
The PRN RN will join the 5B Orthopaedic Unit at Mercy Hospital, providing care for post‑operative orthopaedic patients, injuries, and trauma cases that do not require critical care. This position works variable nights, weekends and holidays.
Key responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care and implement patient care plans.
- Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate discharge needs for patients.
Required profile
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN or BSN).
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- External applicants: minimum two years recent related nursing experience; internal applicants may be considered with less experience after orientation.
Required skills
- RN licensure.
