PRN RN – Operating Room Surgery

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) on a PRN basis to support the Operating Room across seven service lines, including general surgery, orthopaedics, gynecology, robotics, ENT, neuro, and eye. This position offers flexible shift options and on‑call duties to fit a caregiver’s lifestyle.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver professional nursing care to adult and pediatric patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.
• Perform scrub functions such as selecting, handling, and passing instruments and supplies.
• Perform circulating duties, monitoring patient conditions, documenting data, and managing overall nursing care before, during, and after surgery.
• Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments, and equipment for each case.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN, or BSN) with current RN licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months of hire.
• One year of recent clinical experience for internal applicants or two years for external applicants.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift patients and equipment, and meet medium‑work physical demands.
