PRN Radiation Therapist

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System seeks a PRN Radiation Therapist to join the team at Akron General Medical Center. This position works flexible shifts between 7:30 AM and 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with no on‑call requirement.

Key responsibilities

• Implement radiation treatment plans prescribed by oncologists and designed by medical dosimetrists.
• Operate linear accelerators and other ionizing radiation equipment to deliver therapeutic doses.
• Monitor and document patient conditions, reporting any adverse reactions.
• Educate patients on procedures and ensure proper positioning and parameter selection.
• Perform equipment checks, adjustments, and routine safety procedures.

Required profile

• Graduate of a CAHEA‑approved School of Radiation Therapy or ARRT‑registered Radiation Therapist in good standing.
• Current state licensure as a Radiation Therapist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience with radiation oncology EMR systems and ability to record and verify treatment data.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with patients under stress.

Required skills

• Operation of external radiation therapy equipment, including IMRT, IGRT, and CT simulation.
• Proficiency with linear accelerators and related technical parameters.
• Use of radiation oncology electronic medical records.
• Computer data entry and database management for treatment documentation.
