About the role
The Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital is seeking a PRN Patient Care Nurse Assistant to join its Medical/Surgical Post‑Operative Care team. This position provides an opportunity to work in a supportive environment while gaining experience in patient care, medication administration, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Key responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal care, vital signs, weight measurements, and point‑of‑care testing.
- Perform dressing changes, apply external monitoring devices, and remove urinary Foley catheters under RN supervision.
- Report abnormal findings or changes in patients' physical, mental, or emotional conditions to the RN.
- Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms and support overall unit workflow.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross) at hire or within the new‑hire period.
- State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification preferred.
- Physical ability to lift patients and perform moderate manual labor.
