About the role

The PRN EKG Technician provides cardiac testing support across multiple clinical settings at Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital. This position works variable shifts between 7:00 am‑3:30 pm or 3:00 pm‑11:30 pm, with additional coverage as needed.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic electrocardiograms and connect leads to patient electrodes.
  • Review patient records, instruct patients, and monitor them during procedures.
  • Identify and correct wandering, interference, and artifacts.
  • Edit and forward results to the attending physician for interpretation.
  • Maintain EKG equipment and supplies.

Required profile

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Six months of direct patient‑care or customer‑service experience in a hospital, or completion of an accredited cardiovascular technology, paramedic, or medical assisting program.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, and ability to travel within Ohio submarkets.

Required skills

  • Electrocardiogram (EKG) operation.
  • Lead placement and electrode connection.
  • Result documentation and communication.
  • Equipment maintenance.
