Principal Data Scientist I – Advanced AI & LLMs

About the role

We are seeking a Principal Data Scientist I to lead cutting‑edge AI initiatives. You will work with a high‑performing team to design, develop, and deliver advanced large‑language‑model solutions that drive business impact.

Key responsibilities

• Lead analytic projects and share results with senior stakeholders.
• Conduct code reviews and act as final approver for models before customer delivery.
• Define frameworks, methodologies, and governance for AI development.
• Manage small‑to‑medium sized teams, both directly and indirectly.
• Set high standards for model development and performance.

Required profile

• Excellent communication skills for senior stakeholder interaction.
• Proven problem‑solving ability and collaborative mindset.
• Experience mentoring or training colleagues and acting as a subject‑matter expert.
• Demonstrated management experience leading teams.
• Significant background as a Data Scientist with complex project ownership.

• Large Language Models (prompting, fine‑tuning, adaptation)
• Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (hybrid search, ranking optimization)
• Embedding strategies and semantic search systems
• Knowledge graph integration and graph‑enhanced intelligence
• Agentic AI architecture, multi‑step reasoning, autonomous agent orchestration
• Evaluation science (offline metrics, human‑in‑the‑loop systems)
• Cost‑performance optimization
• AI observability and monitoring in production
• Data governance and compliance‑aware system design
