Principal Consultant – BPO Sourcing & Advisory

About the role

Proxima is hiring a Principal Consultant in Chicago for its BPO Sourcing & Advisory practice. You will lead complex BPO workstreams in the Professional Services category, manage senior stakeholders and mentor junior consultants. The role suits practitioners with deep BPO market experience who want to apply it in a consulting environment, helping large corporate clients evaluate, source, negotiate, optimise and transform outsourced service arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead client engagements across BPO sourcing and advisory, building trusted relationships with stakeholders in Procurement, Finance, HR, Operations, Technology and business leadership.
• Apply deep knowledge of the BPO marketplace, including providers, service offerings, commercial models and trends.
• Support clients through the sourcing lifecycle: strategy, market assessment, provider selection, RFPs, commercial evaluation, negotiations and transitions.
• Assess existing BPO arrangements and identify cost optimisation, service improvement, transformation and renegotiation opportunities.
• Apply expertise across outsourced functions such as Finance & Accounting, HR, Procurement and Customer Operations.
• Use knowledge of contract structures, pricing models, SLAs, performance management and governance to support commercial analysis and negotiations.
• Help clients understand how automation, AI and digital transformation are changing BPO delivery, pricing and sourcing.
• Coach and develop junior consultants, contribute to category thought leadership and intellectual property, and lead workshops and client interactions.
• Work in a hybrid, global model, travelling as required.

Required profile

• Experience working for a BPO service provider, advising organisations on BPO arrangements, or managing a significant BPO relationship from the client side.
• Hands-on experience with the BPO sourcing lifecycle, including RFPs, commercial evaluation and negotiations.
• Strong understanding of BPO contracts, pricing models, SLAs, performance management and governance.
• Experience assessing BPO arrangements and identifying cost optimisation and transformation opportunities.
• Familiarity with outsourced functions such as Finance & Accounting, HR, Procurement and Customer Operations.
• Understanding of how automation, AI and digital transformation are reshaping BPO.
• Strong analytical capability and comfort working with data.
