Pre‑K Staff – Early Childhood Educator (Part‑Time)

About the role

Camp Fire Alaska is seeking enthusiastic Pre‑K Staff to join its after‑school program at Susitna Elementary. You will create a safe, playful environment where preschool‑age children explore, learn, and develop confidence through hands‑on activities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily pre‑K curriculum for children ages 3‑5, focusing on curiosity, creativity and social skills.
• Supervise children on site for an average of 6.5 hours per day, ensuring safety and positive interactions.
• Prepare activity materials, maintain classroom organization, and support transitions between activities.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and planning sessions (up to 1 hour daily).
• Communicate regularly with families and the Camp Fire office regarding child progress and program needs.

Required profile

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• At least six months of experience working with children in childcare, youth development, recreation, or a similar setting; preschool experience preferred.
• Reliable transportation to the school and Camp Fire office for trainings.
• Ability to work at multiple sites if needed.
