Senior Site Director

About the role

The Senior Site Director leads the after‑school and summer adventure programs for Camp Fire Alaska at an elementary school in Anchorage. This full‑time, year‑round position oversees youth in grades K‑6, ensuring a safe, engaging environment that supports their social, emotional, physical, and academic growth.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and supervise daily operations of the assigned site, maintaining staff‑to‑youth ratios and schedule adherence.
• Supervise Program Staff and the Assistant Site Director, providing coaching, feedback and performance evaluations.
• Oversee behavior guidance, food service standards, and administrative tasks to ensure timely completion.
• Maintain positive communication with school staff, families, and external partners.
• Conduct in‑person and virtual meetings, manage site supplies, and lead project‑based initiatives.
• Assist with hiring, orientation and training of new staff and site leadership.

Required profile

• Strong leadership and decision‑making abilities with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Reliability and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Experience working with children in an educational or youth‑program setting.
