About the role
The Institute for Experiential AI at Northeastern University seeks a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to conduct applied research at the intersection of artificial intelligence, Responsible AI, NLP, health, and life sciences. The two‑year renewable appointment will be based in Boston, MA (or Portland, ME) and involves publishing, grant writing, and project management.
Key responsibilities
- Design and execute research projects in Responsible AI, large‑language‑model NLP, AI for health, or AI for life sciences.
- Prepare manuscripts for journal and conference submission and contribute to extramural funding proposals.
- Manage project timelines, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and ensure reproducibility of results.
Required profile
- Ph.D. in computer science, AI, data science, computational biology, or a related health/ life‑science discipline.
- Strong publication record and experience with team‑science projects.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with excellent written and verbal communication.
Required skills
- Experience with large language models and natural language processing techniques.
- Knowledge of Responsible AI concepts such as bias detection, fairness, and model monitoring.
- Proficiency in AI applications to health or life‑science data, including bioinformatics and multi‑omics analysis.
