About the role
A Postdoctoral Research Associate position in Nutritional Immunology is available in Dr. Okeke’s lab at Northeastern University. The role focuses on investigating anti‑inflammatory properties of a bioactive peptide at the intersection of nutrition, immunology, and the gut microbiome.
Key responsibilities
- Initiate, execute, and complete independent interdisciplinary research involving immunology, nutritional sciences, and biochemistry.
- Characterize peptide bioactivity in vitro and in vivo, and study peptide‑immune cell interactions.
- Analyze how the peptide influences the gut microbiome.
- Prepare and write research papers, presentations, and grant proposals.
- Assist with laboratory management and train graduate students.
Required profile
- PhD in Immunology, Nutritional Sciences, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biology or related field.
- Track record of research in peptide quantification and analysis.
- Experience with rodent models of inflammation or dietary intervention studies.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and demonstrated research productivity.
