Postdoctoral Fellow – AI Tools for Retinal Imaging

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic seeks a motivated postdoctoral fellow to lead the development of AI tools for retinal imaging. Working in the Amani Fawzi Lab, you will design, build, and validate real‑time image segmentation and interactive labeling systems for OCT, OCT‑A, and fundus photography.

Key responsibilities

• Independently design projects to generate, analyze, and interpret retinal imaging data.
• Develop, implement, and validate AI models for real‑time image segmentation.
• Create interactive labeling tools and data pipelines for clinical use.
• Prepare manuscripts and present findings.

Required profile

• PhD or MD/PhD in a relevant field (MD with lab experience may substitute).
• Strong commitment to research, collaborative work ethic, and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Previous research or academic experience; graduate student experience satisfies this requirement.

Required skills

• AI and machine‑learning techniques for image analysis.
• Experience with retinal imaging modalities (OCT, OCT‑A, fundus photography).
• Software development for real‑time segmentation and labeling tools.
• Data pipeline construction and scientific writing.
